The Origin Myth of Hathea
When the planet was still hot and smelly, the first of the great ones were born. Silver and gold dragons flew through the smoky sky. The beating of their wings dispersed and condensed the gases, clearing the sky so that the sun and rain could bless the scorching ground.
Through their balance, black, blue, green, and red dragons came into being. They were smaller than the first ones, but still enormous. The black ones gave knowledge, the blue ones gave rain, the green ones gave the poison of the swamps, and the red dragons gave the treasures of the earth's depths.
However, while the reds were proud of their glittering ores, the metals got blackened and corroded by the greens' power. The leader of the reds, Terr'deker, was filled with terrible rage. The fire of his vengeance scorched the earth and awakened dormant volcanoes. But the greens did not wait idly for their home to dry up; they also declared war: their venom polluted the skies and covered the daylight in a sickly yellow.
Seeing the destruction, the silvers called on the wisdom of the blacks and the cool logic of the blues for help. But wisdom could not withstand the burning passions and was shrouded in darkness, logic was torn apart by hatred, and Hathea's life-giving land fell to pieces.
Seeing the failure of the silvers, the golden dragons, in order to restore abundance to their chosen home, invited the yellows, who hid life in the sands of the deserts; the whites, who brought fresh air with the wind; and the finned water dragons, who were responsible for the currents of the seas. Together, they calmed the tempers and dispelled the poisons.
When everyone found their place in Hathea and magic flowed unstoppably from their beings, the world came to life. Elves, gnomes, dwarves, orcs, mermaids, sirens, and humans appeared. They carry within them the whole of Hathea, anger, pride, and jealousy, but also care, love, and curiosity. In their hearts, pain and love, hatred and forgiveness are in constant battle, as they continuously create the eras of Hathea.
